Esprit Maléfique tells the story of Xavier, a young man who grew up with pain as his only companion, the loss of a father, the rejection of those he loved, hardships that would have broken most people. Yet Xavier keeps going. He builds himself up, step by step, until he makes a name for himself far beyond where he started. At its core, this is a story about the human adventure-about someone who refuses to let his scars define who he becomes.

But Xavier’s journey takes a turn he never saw coming. An ancient supernatural force, buried deep within his home village, begins to stir. What seemed to belong to the past rises back to the surface, and this time, running away is not an option. Family bonds, the ones he still holds onto and the ones he thought were long gone, become just as real a stake as the threat closing in on him. The adventure grows darker, more personal, and the questions the story raises will stay with you long after the last page.

I started writing this novel when I was 14, without really knowing where it would take me. There were moments of doubt, times I almost gave up, pages rewritten over and over again. But I kept going, much like Xavier did. What exists today is five years of work, passion and courage put into words.
